Why signature pads?
A common question asked from time to time. There are many choices when it comes to signature capture pad devices. Signature pads can range anywhere from the most basic all the way to a full-feature. Using the signature pad to add your signature electronically removes the extra steps of printing the document, signing it and re-scanning. It also preserves the original quality of the document, as scanning can reduce the quality. Once you install the signature pad and its software, plug-ins are added to applications like Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat that make it easy to add a signature within these programs.
Signature capture pads can be used by anyone, but they are commonly used by companies, banks, application service providers, human resources, government agencies and much more. They can be used to sign contracts, forms and much more. These signatures can be digitally stored and printed.
One of our clients – NAPOLCOM (Property Department) considered using the signature pads in their department. They purchased 43 units of Topaz TS460 Standard Signature Pad from us, with the help of our team we able to meet their requirements.

Featured Project, 2017 - A solid one can make all the difference. 0
Security has become tremendously significant today in residential, commercial as well as shopping complexes. In the recent years, several kinds of security systems have come up in the market. Each one of them has a different function. While some are used for recording the information of the visitors, there are others that are used for restricting the entry of people. At the entrance of several residential buildings and commercial complexes, one would have seen different types of security gates to control the entry of visitors. One such gate is the boom barrier gates.
One of our clients - Village East Executive Homes one of the prestige villages in Metropolitan East Area recognizing the need to upgrade their security around the village. With the help of CCS Sales and Technical Team and VEEH Team agreed to a solution of installing WJDZ-101-111 Automatic Boom Barrier to their village.
A boom barrier, also known as a boom gate, is a bar, or pole pivoted to allow the boom to block vehicular access through a controlled point. Typically the tip of a boom gate rises in a vertical arc to a near vertical position. Boom Barriers are usually available as manual, semi-automatic and automatic types:
- In the Manual System the boom gates are manually opened and closed by the manning personnel using a pulley and rope arrangement.
- In a Semi-Automatic system, the booms are opened and closed with the help of an electrically operated cam, controlled by a multiple switch arrangement.
- In an Automatic system, a RFID card reader is installed on the Boom Barrier and all authorized vehicles are issued synchronous RFID card/stickers. These magnetic cards/stickers are usually pasted on the Front Windshield or Front Bumper of the vehicle and based on the sensitivity of the RFID system as soon as any authorized vehicle comes within the decided range (usually 10-15 meters), the Boom Barriers open automatically.
If you once invest for a Boom Barrier it will benefit to you for years and years. It is important to speak with a specialist when making any final decision for what type of security works best for you. Access Control is vitally important in business, as there is usually a lot of foot traffic. You can effectively keep your building safe and secure, by controlling the movement of people in and out of the building. You can as well set the criteria for the people that are allowed to access the building, or sensitive areas within the building.
Controlling access into and around your building is not only good for security, but also for health and safety reasons, with users being granted or denied access to certain zones at different times. Above everything, access control is very important for theft and safety reasons.
Access Control Systems are not just for businesses. Apartment Complexes, Community Centers, Parking Garages, and even College Campuses all have found great benefit to using an Access Control System. The top benefit being when a person with access leaves, a business or organization no longer needs to worry about replacing locks or keys.

Featured Project, October 2017 - Prevent Shoplifting on Retail Stores. 0
Let’s visualize for the moment you own a small or large retail store, and you’re having a problem with shoplifting. (You’re not alone – retail stores lost a lot because of shoplifting!) What are you going to do? You cannot let it prolong, because every month your system tells you that you are losing thousands of money to theft. It forces you to raise your prices, and that means you have to charge more than the store next door. That can make it very hard to compete, especially if the store next door is successfully discouraging shoplifting.
Stores need to protect themselves from internal (employee) and external (robbery) shoplifting. There are many different types of retail security systems for various types of stores and selecting the correct system and clothing tags will prevent false alarms and ensure that the store is secure throughout the workday.
One of our clients - Fashionolgy Lifestyle – (Imus, GMA, Los Baños) recognizing their need to enhance the protection of their store security. With the help of CCS Sales and Technical team we able to meet their requirements. We offered the Promatic Anti-shoplifting RF EAS System (PDS8858S) a Promatic 3rd generation EAS Security Pedestal combines the advanced software radio and phased array technology to enable perfect detection performance and anti-interference ability. Its multiple innovation functions suit for every kind of stores, even Internet and digital marketing. PDS8858 is not only an anti-theft EAS asset but also a most cost-effective infrastructure for retail stores.
If your retail store suffers from shop theft, you basically have three (3) methods to slow the shoplifters down:
There are a number of reasons to ensure all your security devices and systems are regularly checked, with maintenance procedures carried out. We all know that prevention is better than cure. It’s less costly too.
It is important to speak with a specialist when making any final decision for what type of security works best for your business. Competitive Card Solutions offers top of line equipment and some of the best security technicians available, give us a call today!

Featured Project, September 2017 - Barcode scanners soon became a way of life and a necessity in most any business environment. 0
Every single business today uses barcodes for a countless of different reasons. From purchasing from any retail store, attending major events, and even in flying. Barcodes aren’t just lines appearing on ticket or inventory items, barcode scanning systems help businesses track an amazing amount of information which, in return increases productivity and efficiency. It will improve your business’ process (saving time and money) by understanding how barcodes work and by knowing how to use them effectively with a quality barcode scanner. There are several different types of barcode scanners, so it’s important to know which ones will work best for you.
Types of scanners are laser, linear imager and 2D area imagers. Each one scans the barcode in a different way. A very popular and effective choice is laser barcode scanners. It emits a thin red laser from the scanner which quickly and accurately reads the barcode within a timeframe of about one second. The linear scanners read the barcode as an image, and then transmit the entire code as an image file into a database. It also does a better job reading poorly printed or damages codes compared to lasers. 2D area imagers are like linear imagers, it also captures an image but compared to others these scanners can read any type of barcode. 1D, stacked, and 2D barcodes are all supported by 2D imager. Once you know what type of scanner you’ll need, the next big question is what form factor the scanner will be. We are familiar with the basic gun-style and in-counter scanners from retail and grocery stores.
One of our clients - Hotel Sogo, ordered from us a Symbol DS9208 Hands-free Imager for their selected branches. With the help of CCS Sales and Technical team we able to meet their requirements. This Symbol DS9208 can scan any 1D or 2D barcode – from the printed labels in retail that identify product and pricing at the register to mobile coupons, and loyalty cards, boarding passes and even theater tickets. It also provides all the features you need to keep your workers productive.
With all the options available for barcode scanners today, it’s important to find the right device by your business needs. Determining how you will use it and what features you need to make the decision process easier. If you are still having difficulty or have additional questions, give our scanner experts a call. We're happy to help you out.
Featured Project, August 2017 - There is just no way to fake it. It’s the hardest to imitate and duplicate. 0
Biometrics technology is becoming progressively more popular in today’s market because of their many benefits (and, let’s face it, hand or face scanning equipment is just pretty amazing). Biometric time and attendance system work by measuring features of the body that are distinctive to each person, and thus offer greater accuracy in attendance tracking and access control.
Biometrics Access control systems use human physical traits to uniquely recognize or identify persons. The most common biometric access control system is a fingerprint reader. Using a person's fingerprint, the reader is able to determine who is trying to gain access to the system. Biometrics systems also include time and attendance logging. When a person places his or her fingerprint on the device, the device stores that user's fingerprint on its internal database.
Airports, offices, schools, buildings, amusement parks, manufacturing centers and hospitals—virtually anywhere security is a primary issue, you’ll find this technology.
One of our clients – TCL Online Services Inc. recognizing the need to improve their Time Attendance and Access Control in their office. With the help of CCS Sales and Technical team we able to meet their requirements. We offered the ACTAtek Combination Unit (Acta3-1k-FLI-SE-C) - one of the most popular choices for both access control (AC) and time & attendance (TA) applications. Ease-of-use, no software installation and easy network connection create a simple yet sophisticated enterprise-wide platform for many system level software applications.
By combining biometric fingerprint, RFID smartcard, PIN (keypad) and a CMOS/Video camera, IT manager, security and HR are able to select multiple ways for users to authenticate for both Access Control and Time Attendance. This unit is built for heavy use. An IP65 product operating over the extended temperature range, this unit will continue to deliver even in extreme weather conditions.
Choosing a Biometrics technology should be an important decision for your company. Go about the process and considerations with a standard solution that meets your organizational goals.
